As of 1st April 2025, there will be a change to our charges for data searches.
Raising our charges is not easy for us and we do not take the decision to do so lightly. We understand the increased financial squeeze being felt by RECORD is also being felt by others within the sector and although cost savings have been made within our organisation, unfortunately it is now time for an adjustment to our charges to compensate for the increase in overheads.
Over recent years UK business overheads have risen significantly, caused by rising energy costs, inflation and more recently increased staffing costs. These increases have put a strain on RECORD’s operation, and until now, we have not passed these costs on. However, our overheads have increased greatly in recent years. Insurance, costs for office space and accountancy bills have increased significantly, in fact some have more than doubled.
As a small charity, we do not generate profit, instead any surplus income is used to further our charitable aims. RECORD’s overheads are closely monitored, and cost savings are routinely made anywhere they can be. The ultimate goal being increased investment in the services we provide, be that to paying customers or through our support for local conservation groups, communities, amateur naturalists and the conservation of Cheshire’s natural environment and the wildlife it contains.
To this end, we hope you understand our need for the increased charges and will continue to work with us in the future.
