People in around 700 city regions across the globe work together to record as much wildlife as possible over four days in Spring every year. It's one of the world's biggest citizen science events and we love being part of it! The Chester Region (Cheshire West and Chester) first took part in 2023 and then again in 2024. Preparations are already underway for the 2025 event!
You don't need to be an expert to take part in the the City Nature Challenge. The challenge is based around the free iNaturalist app which is easy to use and even includes a handy photo recognition function to help you get started with identification. Plus other observers will help to ID from your photo where possible.
The 2025 City Nature Challenge takes place 25 - 28 April, find out more about how to take part here.
